I’m adding another country to the list of countries I have visited. This spring, I was a part of a team of 10 women who answered the call to go to Rwanda to host a women’s retreat with Beauty for Ashes. We went to encourage, provide hope and a future for women who were effected by the genocide of 25 years ago. There were women who attended who experienced first-hand the genocide and others who were born after, but had family members who were involved. I was totally blessed to meet these women who are starting a new chapter in their lives. First, they are embarking on learning a new career through a ministry called HopeEthiopia. They will be trained in sewing/tailoring and given tools to start their own businesses.

Secondly, our team was able to lift them out of the lies the enemy had told them; that they were worthless, no good, incapable, not worthy of the love of the Father and many more lies. But throughout the program, they became aware that God does love them, that He has a wonderful future for them and they were given a new identity from their Father in Heaven. Beauty for Ashes is a tremendous blessing to women of all ages, cultures and heritages.
